This is slightly off topic from the regular discussions, but is there any chance that Pythonista is going to make its keyboard available system-wide with the impending release of iOS 8? I would like to be able to use it in apps other than just Pythonista.
If your talking about the ability to position the cursor with the slide gestures, that has been crossed out. I remember someone discussing it on social media and I believe cursor adjustment was explicitly stated by Apple as off limits.

One question though - are custom keyboards allowed only as separate apps, can they only come bundled with an app, or is both allowed? Would it be possible to publish a free or 1$ app containing just the extended keyboard? I can imagine many people would find it useful even if they are not interested in Python.
No, I might be wrong about this, but I think an app containing a custom keyboard/extension has to have some functionality to it, other than just the extension/custom keyboard. The functionality part is probably just going to be implemented in most apps by including a simple text editor.
