Hi! I just wanted to post a warning that the Pythonista 3.3 beta expires in 1 day (as of 5/23/19). I’ve been enjoying the new features and would rather not have to revert to 3.2 and lose the Siri integration, keyboard integration, etc. I know @omz hasn’t been around lately, but can we get a new build or an official release before the beta expires? Thanks!

Correct - and since the beta of the newer version expires later this month, will a final release or a new beta be available before then?

@az I sent him many email with Gmail, iCloud and Outlook. No response at all. So I think we are just forgotten.
There are some great people in this world and the Pythonista developer has done an amazing job.
Many people have been trying to contact him, self included, but he's not responding.
BTW: Julian Assange was arrested a month ago and no-one has heard from him either!!!!

I was able to find some issues in the latest beta, has reported them in GitHub and Ole was able to fix many of them. It would be sad to go back to the App Store Version.
If we will see Julian the next time, this will be a great Showdown!

I note the beta has just been extended a few days. It’s back at 7 days in my TestFlight. Considering this thread is 7 days old, there’s 14 days right there. Unless this thread was started when there were 14 days left to begin with.

@madivad I agree there is a problem to contact @omz but there is not a lot of problems with the app it-self, and that is the most important, at least for me.
We can do so much with this app.
@cvp I have grown accustomed to running my apps in the cloud version (something that didn't work pre-beta), I don't mean to be a doomsdayer, but I fear the worst. @omz is no more. I am more than happy to be proven wrong.

If you need to run an iCloud script with the App Store version, you could try to run
this script, passing it as 1st argument, the folder/script_name.py. Other arguments may follow.
I've tested it with the beta because I don't have anymore the normal version.

France 10:00 PM - My Beta has expired. I could'nt think it could happend… And now, it's impossible to launch Pythonista…
Fortunately the majority of my work is in iCloud but not all :-(((

the beta expired. I did not delete it ! I just reinstalled the old appstore version. After the download completed, now pythonista starts again. All my data was still there.
I've reinstalled the old appstore version and … Youpi ! all is is in his place. I can sleep ! Now, I'm going to wait for the old new version ;-)
I've reinstalled the AppStore version but this installation was hanging until I remove the app from the active apps. Good to know if you meet the same problem.
The beta just got extended!
I was going to come in here today and note "I've been downgraded already" but then at a BBQ tonight I get a new beta version!!!! There is an increment too! This one is 330013, I'm pretty sure the last one was 33012, so I'm pretty excited!!!!!

@lpl I would say I'm happy with the beta version, almost bug free, but I agree that I've always be happy with Pythonista which allows me to develop a lot of (little) programs without needing a Pc/Mac.

In addition we now have the Xcode template for the App Store version of Pythonista. I’d say the app is in a decent place right now. (I’d still like background audio support- maybe including a example using this feature would get it approved by the App Store.)

Wow, I can't believe you guys, honestly.
The beta is a beta. It's meant for testing, and it's great if you make use of the new features in your day-to-day scripts, but you knew what you were signing up for. You knew that the beta could break at any moment, that it could also get pulled at any moment which would break the scripts as they don't work with the App Store version.
@omz owes you and I absolutely nothing. It's because of his generosity that we are able to use this new version, for free mind you, and you guys repay him by posting hacked versions of Pythonista? Hacked versions that anyone could just download and use, thereby potentially costing @omz money in lost sales?
Talk about entitlement smh.

because hello? The validity is determined by the developer and you aren't entitled to an extended beta.
@immune as if I did what I did to not pay pythonista? I paid for it, I don't think it's immoral to try and find ways to preserve software that has been lost. Please don't act like that, since nobody wanted to cause harm.
