No, that's not possible, you could use set_volume(0.0) to mute it though.
But that would mute all sounds, right? And there is no way to mute a specific sound that is playing?

Yes, wasn't sure what exactly you wanted to achieve, pausing/muting specific playing sounds isn't possible right now.
Hadn't heard of it before. Haven't looked into it in much detail, but those things tend to be non-trivial to port. However, it doesn't really matter because the license (GPL) is a non-starter for a commercial iOS app...
