Line spacing in Japanese

I am hoping to use Editorial for writing in English and Japanese, but some preliminary tests reveal an annoying layout bug with Japanese text: The line spacing is irregular, with less spacing between lines at regular intervals in the paragraph. On an iPhone, the irregularly spaced lines appear every 7 lines or so; on an iPad, every 5 or so.

Is there any way to fix this?

Here's a screenshot from my iPhone. The text is a single paragraph with no line breaks. This time, I used the same Japanese hiragana character throughout to make the uneven line spacing more apparent.
