I understand that integrating with iOS 11 Files is hard, but this app cannot even be used to open .md nor .taskpaper files sent by e-mail! Not to mention opening files directly shared by other apps. Am I just understanding something wrong, or is Dropbox ONLY alternative to store files locally within the app? How am I supposed to work on the same file both on my computer and iPad if I don't want to use Dropbox? Why do I feel like we are in iOS 7 or something?

Now seriously, should I expect app to include these very basic features in not so distant future, or simply go for refund?

Dropbox is currently the primary way of file storage in Editorial, and I think this is pretty clear from the description. I do understand however, if this doesn't fulfill your requirements, so I would suggest that you simply request a refund through iTunes. You'll find a "report a problem" link in your receipt email. This will guide you through the process.

It may be considered clear that Dropbox is primary way to store files, but it is not clear, that - despite being advertised as Markdown and Taskpaper files editor - it doesn't even register itself as .md and .taskpaper files handler. Which makes the app effectively unable to import such files from any other app, i.e. Mail. Which actually makes Dropbox not primary but only storage available. And this for me is substandard considering any modern, paid iOS app.

Since author seems happy with how things are, I guess I'll take the refund then, thanks.

@kuba_wyrostek @omz This must be an iOS 11 issue. On my iPhone SE with iOS 10.3.1, Editorial appears in the "Open In" menu for .txt, .md, .markdown, and .taskpaper files. I tested this by creating a new "test.txt" file (also tested the other extensions). I copied the file into GoodReader, Documents by Readdle, and iCloud Drive. In all three apps, Editorial appears in the Share/Open In menu for the file.

If that is the case, then I owe an apology to the author. I wouldn't have thought to blame iOS 11, since beta has been available for a while, so somebody should've experienced the same. And it wasn't one device problem (same is on my iPad and iPhone). Eventually I hope for the issue to be fixed soon, whichever side it is on (iOS or the app).

@kuba_wyrostek I don't have iOS 11 myself - does the new Files app still have a "share" option like iCloud Drive previously did? If so, can you try using that, and then see if Editorial appears as a "share target"?

Yes, the Files app still have "share" option, but Editorial does not appear as a share target neither for .md nor .taskpaper extensions. The same is for every other app (i.e. abovementioned Mail). Also when I try to export file from within the Editorial ("share" -> save to Files) I am getting "Text File.txt" (??) instead of original filename.

I am not allowed to use Dropbox at my work, so for me Editorial is useless until open to proper import/export of files. :(

Did you enable Editorial in actions? Share file, scroll to the right (targets/apps row) and there’s More icon where you can enable it.

Yes, I checked "more" actions of course.

OK, I've been given special permission to use Dropbox solely for task management. But when I try to link with Dropbox, all I see is a blank page. What is wrong with this app?
