I'm thinking we should have a Mattermost or Slack server for real time collaboration.

Pythonista Slack or Mattermost
A Pythonista Slack/IRC has been discussed before: https://forum.omz-software.com/topic/2728/pythonista-irc-channel
Well with slack / Mattermost we wouldn't have to worry if the user is online or not
For IRC you can set up a bouncer to receive messages while you're away. (At least that's how I think it works, I rarely use IRC, and then only via webchat.) I've never used Slack and never heard of Mattermost, so I don't know what the differences are.
Put your email here and I will add you to the Slack channel.
Or Telegram. It is built for open communities and anyone can add anyone to the group without having to know their email or phone number. As long as they have a telegram handle.
I did some work with some guys in Italy on a system built on top of Telegram... https://github.com/UnivaqTelegramBot/UnivaqInformaticaBot Fun stuff!
@ccc can u add me to slack?
Done now.
@ccc thanks! (Extra thx for deleting my email! :) )
I actually now prefer discord to slack. It's a great multi-purpose communication tool.
@ccc me2 please? 😃
@Marque___ Put your email here and I will add you to the Slack channel.

Thanks, ccc!
@ccc Email:
Yep. I'm back ;)
@ccc please add me as well:
@techteej can you please provide your address again? It got deleted but the Slack invite send failed. :-(
I think we should use slack-invite-automation. It's a small web application that runs on heroku (at no cost).
There are two big advantages:
- Users interested in joining the Slack don't have to post their email address in a public forum
- The invitations are sent out automatically
@ccc
@lukaskollmer I agree. This is filling up the forums fast.
@ccc could you add me please?
@Webmaster4o discord does look great.
@lukaskollmer Another simpler option would be to make a google form with an email field
@ccc Still haven't gotten an invite :(
@techteej I'll invite you, can you send your email to me?
What happens in the slack channel that doesn't happen in the forum?
@cook a bit more personalized. I enjoy chatting on it a bit more that on here. It's quicker, you get actual notifications, and like I said: personal. People are willing to chat with you, collaborate, discuss ideas, and ask questions.
You should join it.
@cook also, we'll soon have push notifications for new posts in the forum
Okay let's try it out!
@ccc please add me
@Webmaster4o tjtech1014@gmail.com
@techteej Got it. Turns out I can't invite you, but I have sent your email privately to @ccc, so you can delete it now.
@TutorialDoctor , you should also join
could you add me? My email is
I would be interested in joining how ever I am not too keen on leaving my email out in the open for an unknown amount of time, is there anyway I can privately message someone the details, or at lease let me know when they are online to minimise the amount of time my email is publically visible for.
It would have been online for 9 minutes.
@ccc Could you give that slack-invite-automation thing a go? It seems really easy to set up, and adding everyone manually probably gets quite tedious.
@ccc my email is
@omz we just need to find someone who is willing to run this of their heroku account (I can't since I already hit the maximum amount of free workers you can have with a free account)
I still have spare spaces on my account, I haven't used it much recently. So if you want to host from there, send me the details and I can set it up if you want.
@omz Normally I would (after porting it off Heroku and onto Bluemix ;-) ) but tomorrow I will be flying to Nepal for a several week trek. I will be way off the Net.
@ccc Sounds great! Is it possible for you to give either me or @Webmaster4o the ability to add people? I'm not all that familiar with Slack, not sure if multiple admins would require a premium account or whatever.
@ccc I'm sure you're busy with packing your hiking gear, so if it's too much of a hassle to look into that now, don't worry about it. Have a great trip!
"Les grands esprits se rencontrent" ;-) @Webmaster4o is already a co-Owner
Sorry if I missed something, how can I be added to the Slack group? thanks
Here is my email just in case
@Webmaster4o still adding people? My email is
For those who don't wan't to share their E-Mail address in a public forum, you can use our Google Form here to get invited to the Slack Team!

I've deployed the Slack invitation automation app on heroku, so you can just enter your email address here, and get an invite automatically:
@JonB - Have you joined Slack yet?
