Hey everyone, your friendly neighborhood noob coming at you with another question...

I am new with Bluetooth. I am assuming that peripherals are just basic little pieces of hardware like headphones or something, maybe like temperature sensors that can relay data. But I am wondering if it would be possible to connect to another iOS device with the cb module to make a local chat program.

Would this be possible? And if so, what are recommendations on how to connect?

Currently you can't.

From the documentation:

The module is based on the CoreBluetooth framework, but doesn’t expose all of its functionality – for example, it only implements the central role, i.e. you can connect to peripherals but not have the device act as a peripheral itself.

@omz -- are there any plans to support BLE Background notifications in the Pythonista3 roadmap? This would be a powerful featureset now that Arduinos are so accessible.
