Pythonista crashes when using PIL to save PNG

Can you share with us the code that is crashing? It is quite difficult to debug English prose. Often it does not even compile.

This crashes for me

from PIL import Image
im = Image.new("RGB", (256,256))
im.save('image.png')

So does

from PIL import Image
import photos
photos.pick_image().save('image.png')

They both work perfectly if I change the name to 'image.jpg'

    I'm using pythonista 1.5, on an iPad mini 2. Running iOS 8.3. Has anyone had any success saving PNGs?

    Beta person here (iPad mini 1, iOS 8.3), and none of the two crash for me. I recall @ccc saying that he doesn't crash either, and he uses the beta as well, which means that the bug was probably fixed in one of the Pythonista or third-party lib updates.

    Confirmed...  Both work as expected on my iPad (v1.6 beta) and crash on my wife's iPad (v1.5).

    Great. So I just have to wait for the update or to be accepted to the beta program which I applied for. Whichever comes first :P
